Had a very funny encounter today. I received an email from a local newspaper saying that they had fixed their RSS feed.

It was strange because I had notified them on 2026-08-02 that the Content-Type of their feed was set to text/html.

That was incorrect, RSS feed should use application/rss+xml.

It was not a big deal, but I thought it would be fun to report it. I assumed it would most likely never be fixed, but maybe at least someone would notice it.

The bug had to wait more than a year before it was fixed.

I am happy because I was able to make the world a slightly better place. Maybe I helped some RSS users. I had contact with a local newspaper and managed to have a tiny impact on the world. It is only a local page, but still.
